$$ Fundraiser in bio
It’s been a rough week for the Rebel Farms gang. Some of you that follow us personally know that Hurricane Ian came through and decimated our food forest and nursery, forcing us to leave our home . We had prepared for winds, but not for the incredible amount of rain and overflowing canals that would bring over three feet of gnarly polluted swamp water filling our farm structures and surrounding our home.
In 48 hours we watched as two years of hard work – planting, soil generation, Permaculture planning and experiments, worm colonies, supplies, baby trees grown from seed and propagation – was erased.
The oasis that we proudly built from scratch has been knocked back to square one. We will rebuild. We will come back stronger, wiser, more humble, and with a new farm bambino (due Oct 11).
Many of you have reached out to see how you can help. We will be announcing cleanup days and planting days as we forge forward. And for everyone far away we have created a gofundme page (link in bio) to help finance the restoration that will need to happen quickly and efficiently to salvage what may be left of the homestead, purchase necessary supplies, and supplement what will most likely not be covered by insurance.
We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of support, and look forward to keeping you posted on the restoration efforts and upcoming birth.
We love you. Stay rebellious
