Rainy days are typically pretty rough on us. There’s always so much to do, accompanied by a constant urge to make progress on all of the projects we’ve started or are yet to start. The tick tock of life’s ceaseless clock ever in the background of our consciousness tapping melodically on a linear path forward. When an entire day of rain arrives we find ourselves dreading it like an impending doom. But there are always lessons to be learned and wisdom in the wind.
Muscles that need rest. Minds that need nourishing. Time spent together in close quarters in the guest house we built to share our urban farmstead with friends and strangers alike. Reading books, telling stories and playing music together as a family as rain drops pitter patter on the tin roof above. A reminder that there’s an almost intentional time set aside by nature herself for rest and recuperation even if winter is our busy season.
It’s a time for planting and right now we are so incredibly busy putting into reality what has only existed as sketches and designs within computer programs throughout the heat of the summer. We are so incredibly grateful for the volume of clients, work and interest we’ve received since beginning this endeavor but it is currently, literally overwhelming. If you’ve reached out to us and haven’t received a response please be patient as it takes time to craft thoughtful responses to questions and inquiries. This is made all the more difficult as we head into the holidays whilst ever striving to live an intentional, limited social media lifestyle.
If you live in Florida we hope that you made the best of this weekend-busting Nor’easter. We hope that like us, it was (at worst) a forced sign to take time to rest the body and the mind, to take stock of what you’ve accomplished this year and plan for an even better year to come. We have so much exciting news and projects coming with the new year and we thank you all for being a part of it.
