Permaculture Design

A food forest is a type of garden where you grow many different fruits, nuts, herbs, flowers and vegetables. It is designed to mimic a natural forest and has many different layers, from trees to shrubs, ground cover plants, vines, and more. Permaculture in its simplest form is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. We can design these projects from scratch or work with your existing trees, systems and infrastructure.

Food Forest Installation

Once we have your food forest designed we would love to have our team do the installation for you. Depending on your budget and timeframe, we can get your permaculture project up and running in a matter of days. Our goal is for your to have an abundance of food to be enjoyed by your family within a year of installation.

Food Forest Maintenance

Our team will provide you with ample resources on how to maintain your Food Forest. Although we are only a phone call away, we do offer affordable maintenance and fertilization programs to ensure optimum health and the highest production from your trees and gardens.

Plant Nursery

We keep our nursery stocked in two ways. We source our plants and trees from trusted Florida growers, as well as grow many of our plants from cuttings and grafts of trees from our own farm. All of these cultivars we have tested through many seasons and all varieties of weather to ensure that they are well adapted to the central Florida climate (zones 9-10).

Tours, Markets & Seasonal Produce

Currently we offer tours of the Rebel Farms Food Forest on Tuesday and Saturday by appointment only. Our farm fresh, free-range eggs and seasonal produce will be available on a donation basis. We hope to have Rebel Farms merchandise for sale this year, as well as begin to branch out to our local farmers markets in New Smyrna and Deland.

Workshops & Volunteering

Rebel Farms is putting together a 2024 program of in person and online farm workshops . We are always interested in hearing what the community would like to see offered, so if there is a particular workshop or class that you would like, please don’t hesitate to reach out via the contact form. Homestays & Apprenticeship

Rebel Farms hopes to host homestays, apprenticeships, artist residencies, and WWOOFers in the future. Please join our mailing list to hear about these opportunities when they become available.
